Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
