The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf Debut
The rising star maintains considerable social media presence
Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent supporters when she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several international courses and often competes against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He practically suggested to play and relax," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in only three events recently and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the top athlete globally," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He advised me to go out there, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to different demographics, specifically reaching youth audiences.
Kai boasts millions of followers and just introduced an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
