Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
