Barça Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
